I know it's cliche but I really do love New York and New Yorkers! Last night as I drove across the Brooklyn Bridge to do an introduction of the film at the Village 7 cinemas, I looked at the glistening skyline in front of me and couldn't help getting that feeling I always have of--"This is such a gorgeous, incredible, awe inspiring city!" I made Gray Matters as a love letter to this city. I realize the film is a vision of New York seen through rose colored glasses but when I look at the skyline or the Farmers Market in Union Square or Raouls in Soho or the magnificent Brooklyn Bridge, I could go on and on... my glasses are always rosy. This city is where I live and draw inspiration from each and every day. I will be back this coming Saturday night, March 10th, at the Village 7 Cinemas to introduce the film to my home town audience. We had a great crowd there this past weekend and I look forward to meeting more of you.

I am going to see the movie tonight in Miami and it'll be great to see NYC in a good light as compared to all those horrible violent films. NYC is my hometown also and It'll get me over feeling homesick.

The movie had an "old-fashioned" quality to it, and as someone who digs Mickey Rourke tough guy films, I did have to adjust my attitude, but the film is (blush) a delight. As someone who loves Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron, all of the dancing in your film was wonderful, with Heather Graham being a decidedly delightful surprise!

Just saw this on cable last night. Wonderful film, and I'm amazed and pleased to finally find a smart, well-done, urbane film about our lives. Well, your life. I'm 61 and way past the coming out business. But it *used* to be my life, when dinosaurs held sway in the earth. I wrote a book and a screenplay (published, unproduced) about it 25 years ago, but I was a just a tad ahead of Hollywood's own coming-out learning curve. Yet here we've come, kicking and screaming into the 21st Century. Ain't life grand? I love Raoul's, too.

A leading global city, New York exerts a powerful influence over worldwide commerce, finance, culture, fashion and entertainment.
