I want to thank everyone who made it to the theaters this weekend! New York Times Square was sold out on Friday night and that's because of you! However, the only way an indie like ours has any chance of surviving is through word-of-mouth. If you enjoyed the film--please tell your friends and family to jump out and get to theaters this coming weekend--every ticket counts and your referrals really do make a difference! I am doing some meet and greets in the next few weeks at cafes and bars around New York City -- if you have Gray Matters events you would like to host, give us a shout.  This week I will be in Park Slope, Brooklyn at Perch Cafe on 5th Avenue at 7PM on Wed night.

PREMIERE MAGAZINE HOSTS GRAY MATTERS BENEFIT

From the time I wrote Gray Matters I knew I wanted to do something that "gave back". On Tuesday night Feb 20th, Premiere magazine hosted a cocktail party and screening of Gray Matters" to benefit the Hetrick Martin Institute. Molly Shannon, Heather Graham, Alan Cumming and myself were co-hosts of the event. Two youth from the Institute shared their coming out stories with the audience which had everyone in laughter and tears. We raised $13,000 for HMI which might be doubled this week with a corporate, matching donation sponsor! Here are some photos from this special night.

NEW YORK CIY PREMIERE!

Last Thursday night The Cinema Society and Frederic Fekkai hosted the "Gray Matters" New York City premiere. There were piles of slush and snow outside, but inside: red carpet razzle dazzle! Heather Graham looked gorgeous in her Dolce and Gabanna bodice hugging ensemble. The glowing, newly pregnant Bridget Moynahan shined brightly in her Audrey Hepburn inspired Angel Sanchez number. I chose a red and white Oscar de la Renta to celebrate the romance of the film, the 1940's and Valentine's Day! Our whole cast was in attendance along with Moby, Terrence Howard, SNL's cast members, and many others.

WE OPEN THIS FRIDAY!!!

Only four more days till opening day!! Book your babysitters, ask your honey out, get your gal pals, your guy pals, your friends and neighbors and get to a movie theater near you! The wait is over! On Friday Feb 23rd 2007 we open in NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver and Las Vegas. Please check your papers for local times and theaters! Don't fret because we will be coming to other cities near you on March 9th! The kiss seems to be causing a frenzy on the web. However, seeing it in person is all the bigger and better! Critics are saying "Great cast! Great movie! If you want to walk out with a smile on your face, go see "Gray Matters"!

GRAY MATTERS HITS DC

Capitol File magazine and the Creative Coalition graciously hosted the Washington DC Gray Matters premiere on Feb 1st 2007 at the Swedish Embassy. The Ambassador of Sweden introduced the film to the "who's who" of Capitol Hill. Alan Cumming, Heather Graham, and Rachel Shelley joined me as we were toasted by the nation's capitol and some of our most prominent political leaders. What we realized soon after the screening was; we are a non-partisan movie. Republicans and Democrats alike were commenting on how much they loved the film--finally something they can all agree on.

MySpace is Launched!

We just launched a MySpace page for the film with a few extra photos and downloadable wallpapers to Gray-ify your desktop!  Check it out at www.myspace.com/graymattersmovie, and become a friend of the film. The film opens on Feb 23rd in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Vegas, and Denver. Twenty more cities will follow on March 9th. We are an independent film, therefore, word of mouth is everything!

Santa Barbara Glam!

In Rodger Durling's closing night presentation of "Gray Matters" he called the film "An exquisite glass of champagne."

Let it be noted, The SB film festival is the classiest film festival around. The 1800 guests of the closing night "Gray Matters" screening on Sunday night howled with laughter as they sat underneath the starry skied Arlington Theater. Cloud tracers could be seen from miles away as people drove towards Santa Barbara, getting a glimpse of Hollywood past. The block long red carpet was filled with photographers and television crews from around the globe. Here's a photo of me and two of my shining stars.
